Students looking to start a free online health course won't be able to earn course credit for college. Students are expected to complete these courses on their own without the help of an instructor. While titles of textbooks and recommended readings are provided, learners may need to purchase these items separately. Students won't be able to participate in any group assignments that were originally required.

The Adolescent Health and Development course provides students with some readings and lecture materials. Students don't have enough details to complete the assignments mentioned in this course. This course examines topics in adolescent physical and psychological development, decision-making, resilience, substance abuse, violence, obesity and reproductive health. In the Environmental Health course, students only have access to lecture materials that provide insights on water-borne disease, occupational health, hazardous waste, human impact, air pollution, food-borne disease and related risk assessment. While there isn't a formal textbook, suggested readings are provided.
The International Nutrition course offers lecture materials for 15 lectures in areas like emerging issues, nutrition interventions, vitamin deficiencies, pregnancy-related health, global food security, malnutrition and economic analysis of nutrition. The Cellular and Molecular Immunology course provides students with lecture notes, handouts, exams and assignments with solutions. The course delves into lymphocyte development and homing, cells of the immune system, cell mediated immunity, dendritic cells, memory and death, asthma and tumor immunology. The Gastroenterology course presents training through lab assignments, exam study notes and lecture notes. Topics covered include pathology of the pancreas and liver, mucosal immunology, lipid digestion, gastroduodenal pathophysiology, therapeutic endoscopy and jaundice.
Through limited lecture notes, labs and exams, the Molecular Biology for the Auditory System course educates students in basic molecular biology, inner ear development, myosins, embryonic stem cells and genetic hearing loss. The Principles of Pharmacology course gives students access to study materials, lecture notes, exams and assignments. Through limited PDF lecture notes, students encounter topics in pharmacokinetics, autonomic pharmacology, anti-inflammatory drugs, antidysrhythmics, vasoactive drugs and neuropharmacology.
Many of these courses offer lecture materials through text and slides. The Human Growth and Development course provides students with resources on physical development, alternatives to traditional pregnancy, hospice care, neurological development, communication development, sleep cycles and child abuse. The Introduction to Clinical Pain Problems uses 11 lecture sessions to explore topics in neuropathic pain, back and cancer pain, pharmacotherapy, evidence-based therapy, acute post-operative pain, hospice and pediatric pain. In the first-year Nutrition and Medicine course, students investigate behavior skills, carbohydrates, cancer, elderly, water-soluble vitamins, obesity and nutrition assessment through lectures and supplementary materials.

The resources offered by the Foundations of Public Health course include external Web addresses and lecture slides. Lecture slides need to be downloaded and viewed in PowerPoint. This course's resources delve into death and disability, public health research, infectious disease control, cancer and obesity. The Fundamentals of Clinical Trials course consists of audio lectures and reading materials. This course trains students in project management, site selection and responsibilities, types of clinical trials, good clinical practices, related protocol and site monitoring.
The Regulatory Requirements for Pharmaceutical Products course offers reading materials, self-check quizzes and forum discussion topics. Forums are no longer available for students to submit forum responses. Strategic planning, the Food and Drug Administration, marketing authorization application, pre-clinical studies, drug products and good manufacturing practices are topics of discussion.
