Associate of Congressional Reporting: Degree Overview
There are no associate's degree programs offered in congressional reporting; students who are interested in congressional reporting may earn an associate's degree in court reporting. Associate's Degree in Court Reporting
These programs are designed to teach students how to compose real-time, verbatim transcriptions of court proceedings. Students can learn the shorthand techniques used in court reporting, and may develop skills in using machines and computer programs designed for transcription purposes. Students may also learn about legal and medical terminology. These programs emphasize speed, accuracy and efficiency, and train students to develop facility in recording 225 words per minute with 95% accuracy using computerized stenotype machines. These programs do not require a high school diploma or a GED for admission.
