Associate Degree in Marketing and Sales

An associate degree program in marketing and sales, sometimes called sales and marketing technology, trains students in the best ways to promote a company's products or services to customers in the business community. The program may also be found as an area of concentration for a business technology or business administration program. In this 2-year program, students learn the principles of merchandising, marketing, promotions, advertising and sales. Successful graduates are able to perform statistical analyses of surveys and other data, discover hidden patterns in consumer trends and behavior, and pitch an idea or product to consumers and company executives. Some programs allow students to choose an area upon which to concentrate, such as fashion merchandising or advertising. In order to enroll in an associate degree program, a prospective student must have a high school diploma or GED.
