Auto Upholstery Training and Class Information
Auto upholstery classes are typically offered through automotive technology training programs at technical schools and community colleges. Students learn the fundamentals of automobile construction and customization, along with the specific skills necessary to design, install and repair upholstery. Standalone courses in auto upholstery are also available at select schools.
Students in automotive technology certificate and associate's programs begin by gaining a general overview of the automotive industry through a combination of classroom education and hands-on experiences. They are then more readily prepared to select a specific area of emphasis, including custom upholstery construction and styling. Some schools may offer associate's degree or certificate programs in automotive trim and upholstery.
