Bachelor of Arts (BA): Architecture Degree Overview
With a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Architecture degree, individuals will be qualified for entry-level employment in the field. A B.A. in Architecture will also put students on track for the professional degree they'll need to qualify for licensure and certification as an architect.
Bachelor of Arts in Architecture
This pre-professional degree program emphasizes a creative and conceptual approach to design, providing a broad, fundamental knowledge about the architectural field. Some programs may allow students to select a specialization or concentration area within the major, such as building performance or architectural representation. In most programs, students can learn about design methods, architectural theories and applied sciences in building. The National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) doesn't recognize a B.A. in Architecture as a professional degree, but this type of program can prepare graduates to pursue a NAAB-accredited Master of Architecture program. Prospective applicants need to have a high school diploma or its equivalent to be eligible for the bachelor's degree program in architecture.
