Best Art Therapy Schools: List of Top U.S. Schools

Art therapists use visual arts, such as drawing or painting, to evaluate and treat patients with emotional, physical, cognitive and developmental disorders. A master's degree is standard, along with board certification, in order to practice art therapy. Art therapy is a branch within the field of counseling, so programs are often found alongside a school's psychology offerings. Graduates can work in hospitals, nursing homes, shelters, correctional facilities, schools and private practices.
