These search engines usually have you type in a type of field, company name or location when you start your search. Some of these terms seem general, but they are the basics of a job search. As you begin to search more and more, you can start using more specific terms for these fields, so you can get listings of the types of jobs you're looking for.

Company Websites

If you know the names of the companies that you're interested in, you will probably want to go directly to their websites. By doing this, you can find out what types of openings are available.

You may be more successful at scoring an interview by actually talking to somebody within the company. If you don't know anybody in the company, going to the website can help you find out some valuable information.

After you find what types of jobs are available, you may want to try directly contacting whoever is in charge of hiring for that department or for the company instead of submitting your application online. Contacting someone may be more successful than sending your resume into the 'black hole' of the Internet.
