Healthcare Management Programs
Master of Public Health and Health Management
This program is designed for professionals with about ten years of experience in managing health programs. Course topics include health services marketing and planning, public health and law, ambulatory management, project management and financial management. This program requires a minimum of 45 credit hours.
Master of Health Services Administration
This program covers the management of nursing facilities, ambulatory care services, acute care hospitals and behavioral health facilities. Students take courses such as health resources management, ethics and consulting. To graduate, students must earn 50 credit hours and complete the program within five years.
Graduate Certificate in Public Health Management
Students must have either completed a graduate degree program previously or be currently enrolled in another graduate-level program at the School of Public Health and Health Services in order to enroll in this graduate certificate program. The 18 required credit hours must be completed within two years. Core courses include biological concepts, epidemiology and approaches to public health in terms of society, behavior and policy.
Graduate Certificate in Community Health Center Management
The prerequisites for this program include three or more years of relevant work experience, a bachelor's degree in a related field, a basic accounting course and completion of the graduate record examination (GRE) within five years of applying. This program offers courses in a distance-learning format and requires 18 credit hours. Courses include health services information applications, health care law, advocacy and communication and human resources.
Specialist in Health Services Administration
Earning the Specialist in Health Services Administration degree means an individual has the skills and knowledge to deliver healthcare services in a variety of settings. The program is designed for students that already have advanced degrees and want to learn about the latest advancements in their field. Coursework covers medical informatics, health economics and health law for managers. Students must complete 30 credit hours to graduate.
