Certification
Careers associated with a bachelor's of business administration don't require certification, although some positions have options to earn this designation. Financial analysts can become a chartered financial analyst (CFA). This is a three-tiered, graduate-level exam that tests on finance, economic fundamentals and professional and ethical standards within the industry. Accountants also have the option to become certified public accountants (CPA). Exam requirements vary by state, but a bachelor's degree, a minimum number of years of experience and additional accounting coursework is common.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that in 2008 median wages for financial analysts was $73,150 and $96,130 for human resource managers. The BLS shows in 2009 that accountants had a median wage of $60,340, with ranges from $37,690 to over $100,000 (www.bls.gov).
Employment Outlook
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for financial analysts is projected to grow 20% from 2008-2018. Those with certification or a master's degree might experience better opportunities. Human resource managers could experience a 22% growth in employment opportunities for the same time period. Additionally, accountants may see similar employment growth as human resource managers, particularly those with professional certification or a master's degree.
