Financial analysts can become a chartered financial analyst (CFA). This is a three-tiered, graduate-level exam that tests on finance, economic fundamentals, and professional and ethical standards within the industry. Accountants also have the option to become certified public accountants (CPA). Exam requirements vary by state, but a bachelor's degree, a minimum number of years of experience and additional accounting coursework is common.

Those with certification or a master's degree might experience better opportunities. Human resource managers could experience a 13% growth in employment opportunities for the same time period. Additionally, accountants may see similar employment growth (16%) as human resource managers, particularly those with professional certification or a master's degree.
