1. University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a large research institution, was ranked as No. 41 among all national universities by U.S. News & World Report in 2014. Urbana-Champaign is one of three campuses that make up the larger University of Illinois. Within the College of Media, the Journalism Department offers a bachelor's program with a broadcast journalism sequence that covers television, radio and multimedia reporting. 2. Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri

Webster University includes over 100 U.S. and worldwide campuses. U.S. News & World Report listed Webster University No. 24 on its Best College list for Midwest regional universities. The university offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Within Webster's School of Communications, students can pursue a broadcast and digital journalism degree. They study production techniques, broadcast reporting and on-air appearance performance. They can also choose to complete a specific sports broadcasting course.
