Central Texas College
Central Texas College (CTC) is a public 2-year college established in 1965 to serve 11 counties. In 2011, the school offered classes in more than 100 worldwide locations in such diverse places as correctional institutions, embassies, military bases and ships on active duty. It enrolled about 24,000 students in 2009 and offered a student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1.
In its 2010 listings of the 100 schools giving the most associate degrees in all fields, Community College Week ranked Central Texas College 22nd. Students complete specialized courses including business English and math, keyboarding, information management, administrative support, medical terminology, spreadsheets and an internship. Credits earned through the program may be eligible to transfer to a level 2 certificate, associate's degree or technical bachelor's degree program at another institution.
