Motorcycle Technician Associate's Degree
An associate's degree in motorcycle technology prepares students to work on motorcycles and small engines. Many motorcycle technology programs award a certificate or diploma, although associate's degree programs are available at some community colleges and technical schools.
Associate of Applied Science in for Motorcycle Technicians
An associate's degree in motorcycle technology teaches students how to repair motorcycles, snowmobiles, personal watercraft, all-terrain vehicles and other small-engine machines. Graduates of these programs may be prepared for entry-level work with motorcycle dealerships and manufacturers. Some schools may also offer internships. Applicants must be high school graduates or its equivalent, and must submit standardized college entrance test scores.
These programs typically provide a combination of classroom training and lab work. Courses cover motorcycle technology as well as customer service skills. These programs may be designed to allow students to transfer their degree into a bachelor's degree program. Courses may include:

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), job growth for motorcycle mechanics was expected to increase 24% between 2010 and 2020, which is a faster rate than the average of all other occupations (www.bls.gov). This increase may be attributed to the growth in the amount of registered motorcycles, the BLS noted. According to the BLS, the mean annual wage for motorcycle mechanics was $34,910 in May 2012.
