Online Broadcast Journalism Courses and Classes
Online courses in broadcast journalism are offered at several colleges and universities. These classes are typically offered as part of bachelor's or master's programs geared towards students pursuing careers in the television and radio.
Online Broadcast Journalism Course Overview
Although fully online programs in broadcast journalism aren't common, a number of schools offer hybrid programs requiring some on-campus attendance. Online broadcast journalism courses presented at the bachelor's degree level may be part of programs such as a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications and a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting. In addition to coursework, bachelor's candidates may also need to complete an internship and major project.
Students taking online master's level courses, many of whom already hold a bachelor's degree in a journalistic field, are studying to earn a degree in programs like a Master of Arts in Broadcast News or a Master of Arts in Communications. A master's candidate may also need to complete an internship and write a thesis, as well as complete course requirements.

The majority of a distance student's coursework can be completed online, meaning the most basic technical need is a computer with an Internet connection, compatible Web browser and an active e-mail account.
