Online Event Coordinator Classes and Courses Overview
Students enrolled in online event coordinator courses learn to design, plan and coordinate weddings, corporate functions and other major events. Read about some of the most common types of online event coordinator courses and classes.
Online event coordinator courses are offered at many colleges and universities through distance learning programs. Some classes are offered in hybrid format and require on-campus participation, while others are available fully online. Although typically offered as part of graduate and undergraduate certificate programs, online event coordinator classes may also be part of degree-granting programs in hospitality management.
Graduates may find employment working for private planning organizations, convention centers, hospitality or recreation businesses, or may open their own event planning business. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) noted in 2010 that approximately nine percent of event planners were self-employed (www.bls.gov).
