Online Quicken Training Information
Quicken is personal finance and accounting software utilized by small business owners, bookkeepers and individuals. Online training can be found through classes and self-directed learning materials.
Quicken Training Information Overview
Students enrolled in Quicken training online learn to track and chart financial accounts, as well as create and print statements, receipts and invoices. They can also master how to monitor inventory and prepare financial reports for analysis. Training is offered for individuals or small businesses.
Training Provided by Postsecondary Schools
Online Quicken training is available through public and private postsecondary institutions, such as community colleges. Most classes are asynchronous, meaning that students can view lessons and complete class work on their own schedule. Training is usually available completely online and does not require an on-campus component. Courses may have set monthly start dates, and students are allowed a certain amount of time to complete the course.
Some postsecondary schools offer their own online courses, while others provide them through outside vendors that conduct online training classes for partner educational institutions. Both types of classes use similar online course management technology. Students need Internet access, as well as the ability to send and receive email.
These are frequently offered as non-credit classes. While it might not be possible to earn a certificate or diploma, some students can still obtain a letter of completion stating that they've finished the class.
How Online Quicken Training Works
Instructors teach interactive classes using videos, demonstrations and screenshots of Quicken features. Courses may include question and answer sessions, online lecture notes, assignments, discussions and quizzes. Students typically must purchase their own textbooks. They are also responsible for securing their own copies of Quicken software, which can sometimes be obtained as a free trial version.
Training Provided by Intuit
Quicken-maker Intuit also provides free online tutorials for Quicken users. These text-based documents provide general instructions for tasks like updating or installing the software, printing documents or reports, connecting bank accounts and managing a financial profile. Quicken users also have access to an online community forum where they can ask questions and tap into the knowledge and experience of other Quicken users, as well as lend their own experiences to advise others.
