Jobs Available to MBA in Global Management Degree Holders
MBA degree programs in global management prepare students for many careers in international business and finance. An MBA in any business-related area is a valuable tool for those who want to pursue business-related jobs. Graduates with an MBA in global management have access to a number of lucrative high-paying jobs. Two examples of such jobs are as executives and management analysts.
Management analysts, sometimes referred to as management consultants, analyze data provided to them by companies and organizations. Making improvements in the areas of efficiency, profit, or structure is the goal of management analysts. The best career prospects are available to individuals with graduate degrees and an area of specialization. Management analysts can choose to specialize in an industry such as healthcare or by business function type such as marketing or logistics.
The need for management analysts with a focus on international affairs is high due to the overall growth of international business. Many companies founded in the United States that wish to expand outward into the global market will need analysts to help them create plans and strategies for entering these new markets. Another result of increasing international business is that companies will have to compete with not only domestic rivals but also those from other countries. The need to acquire greater efficiency of resources in order to cut costs will result in demand for management analysts as well.
As of May 2012, the BLS reports that management analysts make an average yearly income of $88,070. Overall job growth of 22% is expected by the BLS from 2010 to 2020. This rate is much faster than the average rate for other occupations (www.bls.gov).
The top executives within a company or an organization have the job of helping set organization-wide goals. They work with other top executives to create strategies to meet these goals. Executives often create company policies and set the organizational culture of a workplace. Because the top executives of a company hold nearly all responsibility for the operations and results of it, they can experience a high amount of stress. At the least, there is much work to be done when assuring that all components of a company work in the ways which will achieve maximum efficiency and results.
While no set educational requirements exist for executives, the BLS reports that many of these individuals hold graduate degrees in financial areas such as business administration, global management, accounting, and any number of other relevant subjects. The amount of money that these professionals earn each year is highly dependent upon their abilities and how well they perform. An MBA in global management can represent a valuable asset to an executive due to the fact that international business increasingly touches all sizes of businesses.
The stress that inherently comes along with top executive jobs can prove to be quite worth it upon analyzing the pay rates of these jobs. Chief executives earned average salaries of $176,840 per year as of May 2012, per the BLS (www.bls.gov).
