Managers work in almost all industries in both administrative and labor roles. Those mangers seeking master's degrees earn their Master of Business Administration (MBA) and often work within an office setting. Read on for examples of MBA-level managers and the salaries that accompany their roles.
Information Technology Project Manager
According to Payscale.com, the middle 50% of information technology project managers earned between $82,465 and $108,936 per year in August of 2010. These professionals are often responsible for planning and coordinating computer-related activities of the businesses for which they work. They may also take control of software development, network operations, software and hardware upgrades; they also ensure that computers are kept up-to-date and deal with all other daily technology issues within a firm. Those within this field have often earned their MBA with a concentration in management information systems.
Human Resources Director
Payscale.com indicates that the 25th to 75th percentile of human resources directors with MBAs earned between $61,674 and $110,123 as of August 2010. These managers often oversee several departments within human resources, such as employment and placement, recruitment, occupational analysts, benefits managers and training managers. The human resources director is often an experienced manager and reports directly to the top human resources executive.
Marketing Manager
A marketing manager is a professional who works with advertising and promotion managers to better promote services and products. They may also develop pricing and market share strategies to maximize profits while watching trends and understanding which new products will be marketable. According to Payscale.com, the middle 50% of marketing managers with MBA degrees earned an average of between $60,867 and $87,854, as of August 2010.
Finance Manager
Finance managers oversee the preparation of reports, investments and cash management strategies as they pertain to a company's monetary goals. There are several types of financial managers, which include controllers, cash managers and branch managers. While all serve different roles within a company, they are all mostly concerned with making sure a company's finances are in order. According to Payscale.com, the middle 50% of finance managers who've earned their MBA reported earnings of between $75,191 and $102,921 per year.
