Shoe Making and Repair Classes and Courses Overview
Shoe making and repair classes can be found as part of a certificate, associate, bachelor's or master's program in footwear, fashion or accessory design. These classes cover a variety of topics, such as pattern making, textiles and design fundamentals.
Unfortunately, the craft of the cobbler, or shoe repairer, is going under fast, due to cheap imports from around the globe. Educational programs in shoe repair are pretty much non-existent. However, some art schools offer programs in footwear design, accessory design and fashion design, in which students can learn to design footwear.
