University of North Florida

A university on the rise in both size and influence, the University of North Florida (UNF) began in 1972 with just a few buildings at the end of a dirt road. The school is now home to more than 16,000 students on its five-college campus located in the heart of Jacksonville. For 2011, U.S. News & World Report ranked the university No. 48 in 'Regional Universities (South)' and No. 19 in 'Top Public Schools' in the area. UNF's campus is brimming with student involvement opportunities ranging from joining one of the university's more than 140 clubs to supporting the school's 17 Division I sports teams.

UNF's College of Computing, Engineering and Construction provides various degree programs that enhance students' technical expertise, communication skills and leadership understanding as they seek employment in the field. U.S. News & World Report ranked the school No. 155 in 'Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs' in the nation for schools whose highest degree offered is less than a doctorate. Students have ample access to labs and research facilities, including the Computer Aided Engineering Lab and the Engineering Fabrication Laboratory.

Electronics Technology Programs

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

Students in this program are meant to develop a keen understanding of all elements involved with electrical systems and devices from creation to functionality and maintenance. The program of study highlights topics like fiber optic communications, circuitry basics and digital signal processing.

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering

Building upon fundamentals acquired at the undergraduate level and culminating with a thesis or final project, this master's program enables students to thoroughly investigate subjects or theories in electrical engineering that compel their interest. The graduate curriculum is overseen by a department advisor and may include such courses as advanced circuitry, contemporary issues in electronics technology and complex digital systems.
