1. University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA

The Davis School of Gerontology offers numerous programs in both the social and health aspects of aging. The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Human Development and Aging has a social science track and a health track, both of which prepares the student for further professional education in the social services and healthcare fields. The programs leading to a Master of Science (M.S.) in Gerontology and a Master of Aging Services Management provides professional education and training for those interested in careers in business management and social services for the aging. The school also offers a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and several graduate level certificate programs in Gerontology.

2. California State University - Fullerton

The Fullerton campus of the California State University system offers 105 undergraduate and 50 graduate degree programs. In 2011, Cal State Fullerton was 37th in U.S. News & World Report's ranking of the top master's universities in the western region of the U.S.

The school offers an M.S. in Gerontology with 30 units of coursework in topics such as aging and public policy, social and ethical issues in aging, the economics of aging and aging and dementia.
