1. University of Connecticut Neag School of Education in Storrs

The American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education has listed the University of Connecticut's Neag School of Education as the top kinesiology doctoral school since 2005. Connecticut's undergraduate department of kinesiology provides students with an education in athletic training, exercise science and sport management.

Students enrolled in the Athletic Training Education Program graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and have two and a half years of academic and clinical studies. The exercise science program focuses on preparing students to look at sport and exercise in physiological terms while the Bachelor of Science in Strength and Conditioning, a part of the exercise science program, is meant for students hoping to become strength and conditioning coaches or employees in the fitness sector. Physical therapy graduates tend to find work in places including hospitals, schools, sports medicine centers and homes, but the sport management major, which requires a 6-credit internship, helps students interested in entering the sports industry after college.
