Pharmacy Technician Certificate

Foothill College's pharmacy technician certificate program lasts nine months, with instruction beginning only in the fall semester. Students learn how to calculate drug dosages, maintain aseptic conditions and dispense medications. They also study pharmacology, as well as learn about inpatient and ambulatory settings. Students undergo training in the program's dedicated pharmacy tech classrooms and labs. Hospital and retail clinical internships allow them to experience various professional environments while working under the guidance of an instructor.

Associate in Science in Pharmacy Technician

Like the certificate program, the 2-year associate's degree program prepares students to become registered pharmacy technicians. Associate's degree candidates additionally complete general education courses. Graduates can opt to transfer to a 4-year program or enter the workforce.
