Electronics Technology Programs
Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology
Students interested in electronics technology can earn a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (BSET) with a concentration in electrical engineering technology. Students complete core courses in engineering technology and classes in probability, calculus, algebra and chemistry. BSET students learn about analog electrical and electronic systems design and study the use of digital systems for decision making and signal processing. Coursework covers control systems applications, modern electronic devices, power components and embedded systems.
Individuals holding Associate of Applied Science degrees from another institution may complete their bachelor's degree in as little as two years through a degree completion program. Junior and senior years in the electrical engineering technology program build on the foundation laid while earning an associate's degree.
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering
A master's degree can be earned via either a thesis or non-thesis option. The non-thesis option requires a project in a chosen focus area. Concentrations include computer engineering, communication and signal processing, optoelectronics and microelectronics, analog, mixed-signal and radio frequency, control systems and power systems.
Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering
Ph.D. students complete coursework and a research dissertation, an original work on a chosen subject which may be submitted for publication. Students can participate in research on topics such as force arrays, submicron lithography, laser and detector design, optoelectronic networks, controls and parallel architecture. Coursework covers circuit mapping, system controller design, multivariable control analysis and production cycle testing.
