1. George Washington University in Washington, DC

George Washington University (GW) is a 4-year, private school with approximately 10,000 undergraduate students, 14,000 graduate students and 1,000 non-degree students enrolled across three campuses. U.S. News and World Report named GW the 50th best national university in 2012, and the fifth best school for international business in 2011.

Students in GW's School of Business can pursue a Master of Tourism Administration with concentrations in sustainable tourism, sport management and hospitality management with optional specializations in ecotourism or heritage tourism. This degree program can be taken on campus or through a distance-learning option. Other degree programs in this field include a Master of Business Administration or a Ph.D. in Business Administration, both with concentrations in tourism management. The school also offers an online, accelerated Master of Tourism Administration, which requires a minimal residency.

Founded in 1914, Johnson and Wales University (JWU) is a 4-year, private school with an enrollment of over 10,000 students, most of them undergraduates. The school has campuses in the cities of North Miami, Denver and Charlotte. In its 2012 rankings of best colleges, U.S. and World Report named JWU the 82nd best regional university in the North.
