Marymount University

Marymount University (MU) was founded in Arlington, VA, in 1950. It has a student population of approximately 3,500 students per year in undergraduate and graduate programs. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology - Information Systems Specialty

The program offers students several specialties, including information systems. IT major requirements include personal digital security, IT applications, computer technology, advanced java programming and a sophomore IT seminar. Required classes in the information systems specialty include financial accounting, business law and decision analysis; students must choose an elective from accounting, information technology, graphic design, management or marketing.

Master of Science in Information Technology - Computer Security Specialty

Students can choose from four specialties, including computer security. Individuals who choose this track earn the Master of Science in Information Technology and a Computer Security and Information Assurance certificate. Required courses in the computer security specialty include security and privacy of electronic documents, advanced computer security and information assurance. Students must complete one more course and can choose from cryptography, information security management or computer network defense. Information technology courses required in this program include enterprise data management and analysis, ethics, systems engineering and computer security.

Certificate in Information Technology

The 18-credit hour program requires students to complete courses in computer security, systems engineering and information technology management. Students must have a bachelor's degree and proof of experience in information systems or information technology.
