The College of Southern Nevada

The College of Southern Nevada is a public, 2-year school with more than 43,000 undergraduate students. The goal of this institution is to provide an affordable education to students by offering more than 3,000 courses each semester, many of which are transferable to 4-year institutions. Over ninety percent of students are from the state of Nevada, and the vast majority attend the college with the aim to obtain a degree. On-campus housing is not available on any of the three main campuses or the 20 academic and learning centers.

Within the College of Southern Nevada is the School of Advanced and Applied Technologies, which, through the Department of Media Technologies, offers academic programs in Web design. The goal of this department is to prepare students for a career in constantly evolving technological fields. The graphic technology program offers students the option to concentrate in computer graphics design, multimedia authoring or Web design. Both associate degrees and certificates programs are offered.

Web Design Programs

Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Technology - Web Design Emphasis

The Department of Media Technologies offers this 2-year program for students interested in completing a Web design degree program. Students use digital tools for creative production and graduates should be able to create vector and bitmap graphics, assemble Web pages and produce interactive Web content. Students must complete a series of core courses, including graphic communications, design, electronic imagining and publishing. Students also have the opportunity to study Web animation and interactivity.

Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Technology - Multimedia Authoring Emphasis

This 2-year program requires the completion of 64 credit hours, and enables graduates to use Adobe software to produce professional and creative multimedia presentations. Students are instructed in computer graphics, Web animation and multimedia design. Graduates should be capable of creating 2D and 3D images for a monitor.

Certificate of Achievement in Graphic Technology - Web Design Emphasis

This 33-credit program is designed for students interested in the basics of Web design. Students earning this certificate learn how to use digital tools such as electronic imaging, Web design and computer graphics. Graduates are able to utilize basic skills for design, animation and illustration.
