The University of Colorado Denver is a public school located about seven miles outside of Aurora in the large metropolitan area of Denver, Colorado. The school is one of three educational institutions in the University of Colorado System and is the largest research university in the state. Metropolitan State College of Denver

Metropolitan State College of Denver, also called Metro State, is another large public educational institution located just a few miles away from Aurora in Denver. The school offers undergraduate programs in the fields of education, liberal arts, business and criminal justice, among others.
