Austin Community College District is a public, 2-year institution located in Austin, Texas. It has a student population of over 40,000 and a student-to-faculty ratio of 21:1.

Automotive Brake and Suspension Certificate

The automotive brake and suspension certificate program trains participants to repair components of these automotive systems. Students must complete five courses in order to obtain this certificate. The automotive heating and air conditioning certificate program includes studies on the basics of refrigeration and the repair of heating systems. Guidelines set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the safe handling of refrigerant are also included in the program. Additionally, students must complete coursework in general automotive technology and automotive electrical systems to obtain the certificate.

Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology

Austin Community College District's associate's degree program in automotive technology is a broad program designed to qualify graduates to work as auto mechanics. The 4-semester program requires students to complete coursework that familiarizes them with the various systems and technologies used in modern vehicles. Students must complete a total of 66 credits to obtain their associate's degree in automotive technology.

Capitol City Trade and Technical School

Capitol City Trade and Technical School is a 2-year, private for-profit institution located in Austin, Texas. It has a student population of just over 150 and a student-to-faculty ratio of 20:1.

Automotive Repair Technician Certificate

Capitol City Trade and Technical School's automotive repair technician program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in car dealerships, repair shops and specialty automotive repair garages.
