Associate of Science in Baking and Pastry Management
The Associate of Science (A.S.) program in baking and pastry management is for students who plan to become pastry chefs, as well as those already working in the culinary industry who wish to increase their career skills. The program includes courses related to running a food service organization with classes such as food service and beverage management, catering and banquet management. Baking and pastry studies cover classical and contemporary cakes, chocolates and confections, production pastries and desserts, and confectionary art design. Daytona State College

No other schools in the Orlando area have programs dedicated to baking and pastry arts; however, culinary programs can be useful for a career in this industry. Orlando Tech, located five minutes north of downtown Orlando, has a 15-credit certificate program in commercial foods and culinary arts. This program trains students in presentation, cooking and management skills. A bachelor's degree in restaurant and food service management is available at the University of Central Florida, which is about 15 minutes from downtown Orlando.
