CHOICE Technical Center in Fort Walton Beach hosts a certificate program in marine service technology in which students learn how to repair and service multiple marine engines. The curriculum is split between classroom and hands-on labs covering electrical systems, drive systems and boat rigging. Education in boating accessories is also included. Students have the opportunity to earn two Yamaha certificates during the program.

Fort Myers Institute of Technology

At this Fort Myers school, students in the marine service technology program learn the fundamentals of marine mechanics, boat repair and accessories. Pensacola's George Stone Technical Center's marine service technology program is divided into two separate sections. The first section includes two 300-hour courses in marine rigging and outboard engines. This part of the program is generally completed in 750 hours. Taken together, the two segments comprise the full 1,350 hours. Students can study on a full- or part-time basis.

The program runs from 8:00 a.m. until 2:15 p.m., Monday through Friday during the Spring and Fall semesters; summer hours vary.
