Cameraman Courses and Certification Program Information

Through these courses, students learn the basics of filming, lighting and editing, and they'll have access to various digital, HD, 16mm and 35mm cameras to hone their cinematography skills. Certification isn't a credential required to work as a cameraman.

Introduction to Videography

These programs are offered at many schools provide the basic skills necessary to film, edit and produce videos. Cameramen learn techniques for lighting, camera position and video editing. Post-productions topics, such as the addition of music, sound and other special effects, are also covered. These courses provide an in-depth overview of the skills needed to become a cameraman and typically take 2-4 years to complete.
