CNA Program Options in Michigan
Michigan requires that nursing assistants, often called nurse aides, complete a state-approved training program. The program must be at least 75 hours and cover 51 key tasks. After completing the program, a prospective certified nursing assistant (CNA) must pass a written test and a skills test in order to obtain a license from the Long Term Care Division of the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs' Bureau of Health Care Services. Only licensed CNAs are placed on the state's list of CNAs approved to work in long-term care facilities. Below is information on 10 of the largest Michigan schools for CNA training, along with a table that gives each school's program offerings and tuition.
