Schools Offering CNA Training in Michigan
The State of Michigan requires that individuals complete a state-approved training program to work as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), and according to the state's Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, there are more than 200 of those programs statewide. The minimum length of the training program is 75 clock-hours, although programs statewide differ in length. Upon completion of the education program, an aspiring CNA must pass both clinical and written exams. Certification is valid for two years.
These programs are limited-entry programs, based on availability of clinical experiences, and all require that students submit a health record, obtain specific immunizations (for tuberculosis and other diseases) and submit to criminal background checks. Some programs require attendance at a pre-admission orientation. Below, read program summaries at 10 of the largest education programs that help students meet state requirements and about their tuition requirements to make an informed decision.
