Lansing Community College's CNA Training
Lansing Community College (LCC) is Michigan's third largest community college in terms of enrollment. In addition to the almost 2,500 different courses and more than 240 certificate and associate degree programs, LCC offers students more than 200 online courses. As part of their 'rapid entry' program, Lansing Community College has CNA training programs that have the student trained and readied to enter the workforce in less than a year.
Long-Term Care Nurse Aide Certificate
This state-approved course prepares individuals for a career as a nurse aide in a home healthcare agency or long-term care facility. This course consists of 94 hours of laboratory, lectures and clinical work over a 3-week period. Coursework includes communication and interpersonal skills, basic nursing skills, encouraging resident independence, respecting resident rights, infection control and basic roles of the nurse aide. Upon successful completion of this course, students are eligible to sit for the State Competency Evaluation Nurse Aide exam. Once they pass the exam, students receive a CNA certificate.
Acute Care Nurse Assistant Certificate
This course is offered as an 8-week daytime program or 16-week day and evening program. Students are prepared for employment in an urgent care setting or acute care hospital or clinic as nursing assistant and patient care technicians. The course consists of laboratory work, lecture and clinical experience. Acute care nurse assistants perform routine tasks, for the patients. Students learn to observe patients' emotional and physical condition, perform glucose testing, take vital signs and escort patients to examining rooms and appointments. Upon successful completion of this course, students are qualified for the State Competency Evaluation Nurse Aid exam to become certified nurse assistants.
Acute & Long-Term Nurse Aide Certificate
This course combines features of the long-term care nurse aide and the acute care nurse assistant courses, with the option of a 6-week daytime program or a 16-week evening program. Students are prepared for work in a long-term or acute care facility or a home healthcare agency upon completion. Students gain the skill and knowledge to provide basic care as a CNA. Upon successful completion of this course, students can take the State Competency Evaluation Nurse Aide exam and become a certified nurse assistant upon passing the exam.

Henry Ford Community College's CNA Training
Henry Ford Community College (HFCC) is a fully accredited college that offers a variety of courses and programs. CNA training is one of the many courses offered at Henry Ford Community College.
Nurse Aide Certificate
This 11-week program prepares students for work as a nurse aide and acts as a stepping stone towards an associate degree program in nursing. Coursework consists of 90 hours of theory, 128 hours of lab practice and 52 hours of experience in a clinical setting. Students gain the knowledge to provide basic nursing care to patients in hospitals, clinics or acute care settings. When students have successfully completed this program, they're eligible to take the state test to receive CENA (competency evaluated nurse aide) designation. Upon successfully passing of this test, students receive their certificate as a certified nurse aide.
