Automotive Technology Certificate

Union County Vocational Technical School offers a certificate program in automotive technology. This program trains students in four areas, including brakes, electrical and electronic systems, engine performance and steering. Individuals receive a level of training that will enable them to sit for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification exams in these specific areas. Credits earned in this program can be applied towards the associate degree program offered at Brookdale Community College.

Middlesex County College

Middlesex County College was founded in 1964. The school offers associate degree and certificate programs in a variety of academic and vocational disciplines. Students interested in automobile repair and maintenance can pursue an associate degree in automotive technology. This program has acquired National Automotive Technician Education Foundation certification.

Associate in Applied Science in Automotive Technology

This program is intensive and demands 60 weeks of coursework in addition to 30 weeks of on-the-job technical training. Courses cover brake and electrical systems, tune-up methods and diagnostics. Students who complete the first year of the program also receive a Maintenance and Light Repair certificate from Ford Motor Company.
