Essential Information

IV certificates arm students with essential skills for administering intravenous dosages. Certificate programs for IV administration are offered at 2-year colleges and 4-year universities in the state of Colorado.

IV programs generally consist of lectures and demonstrations before concluding with real-life administrations by students themselves. Below is a rundown on two prominent IV certification programs in Colorado. Students might enroll in the following:

  • CT in Basic IV
  • CT in IV Therapy

Red Rocks Community College

Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood, Colo., offers an IV certification program for emergency medical technician (EMT) students. The 20-hour program consists of lectures and hands-on demonstrations where students learn the essential skills of intravenous administration. The program culminates with in-field practice, where each student must administer 10 IVs to receive the certificate. In order to enroll, students must hold current EMT-Basic certificates for the state of Colorado.
