The Largest School Offering Introductory Cooking Classes in Northern Virginia

  • Kitchen Assistant: This class is one of four cooking classes offered by the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center in northern Virginia. It lasts for 120 training days and prepares students for entry level employment in food service. Students learn how to serve tables, wash dishes, operate kitchen equipment, transfer food and supplies, prepare vegetables and serve in cafeteria lines.
  • Cook's Assistant: After taking the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center kitchen assistant curriculum, cooking students can take this class for 40 more training days. It teaches students the skills they will need to cook, weigh, measure and store food.
  • Baker's Assistant: This cooking class teaches students how to weigh and measure ingredients, read recipes, prepare dough and pans, store food and transfer supplies. It lasts for 40 training days after the kitchen assistant program at the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center is completed.
