Montgomery College's CPR Classes

Basic Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers

University of Maryland - Baltimore County's CPR Classes
Situated on 500 acres in Baltimore, the University of Maryland - Baltimore County (UMBC) is a 4-year public college with an annual enrollment of more than 12,000 students. UMBC offers undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs. The college also offers professional education and training, such as CPR classes.
This 3-hour class teaches choking relief and CPR for adults, children and infants. Instruction is intended for individuals who may need to administer CPR in the workplace. Upon successfully passing the skills test, students receive the AHA's Heartsaver CPR Course Completion Card.
Heartsaver Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
This 3.5-hour class covers the same material as the Heartsaver CPR class, but also includes instruction for using an automated external defibrillator (AED). Students who successfully pass the skills test receive Heartsaver AED Course Completion Cards.
Heartsaver CPR in Schools
CPR and choking relief instruction is directed towards middle and high school students who want to earn a Heartsaver CPR in Schools Course Completion Card. Course topics also cover the use of AEDs. A skills test is required.
Heartsaver First Aid
Students learn how to respond to environmental and medical emergencies as well as administer first aid to injured patients who are waiting for emergency response units to arrive. Additionally, students receive CPR and AED training. Each candidate must successfully complete a written exam and skills test to receive the Heartsaver First Aid Course Completion Card.
Family and Friends CPR
This course is for people who want to learn CPR for their own purposes, rather than to fulfill workplace-related requirements. Because students do not have to complete a written or skills test, a participation card is administered to those who attend this 2.5 hour course.
Family and Friends First Aid for Children
The first aid and CPR skills taught in this course are tailored to the needs of children and infants. A participation card is given to household child care workers, babysitters or anyone else interested in completing this 45 minute training session. Students do not have to take a skills exam.
