What is the Denver Institute of Technology?

The Denver Institute of Technology, now known as Westwood College, was founded in 1953 as a technical institute offering a variety of diploma and degree programs. In 1987, the Denver Institute of Technology was bought by Alta Colleges, Inc.; it's now part of a system of for-profit institutes operating on 19 campuses in Colorado, Georgia, California, Texas, Illinois and Virginia. Campuses include Redstone College and Westwood College Online, which is a part of Westwood College - Denver North. Since becoming part of the Alta Colleges system, the college formerly known as the Denver Institute of Technology has expanded to become a career education provider in high-demand fields, awarding degrees in computer and information technology, healthcare, business, design, industrial services and criminal justice. Westwood College Online currently offers 17 degree programs utilizing cutting-edge multimedia technologies.
