According to the BLS, anthropologists working for the federal executive branch in 2013 earned a mean annual salary of $74,280, while those working in management and consulting roles within the private sector earned a mean annual wage of $58,330. In 2013, market researchers made a mean annual salary of $67,780; social psychologists earned a mean annual wage of $88,400 in that year, as noted by the BLS.
Employment of anthropologists and market research analysts is expected to increase at a faster-than-average rate in the 2012-2022 decade. The BLS projects that opportunities for anthropologists will grow 19% and jobs for market research analysts will increase 32%. Employment of social psychologists is expected to rise 11% in the same time period. Strong competition is expected in all of these fields and having a graduate degree will likely be an asset.
