How to Select an Energy Healing School

Energy healing is a specialized area in the field of complementary and alternative medicine. Complementary and alternative medicine is offered as associate's, bachelor's and master's degree programs as well as certificate programs. Course topics in these programs include magnetic healing, psychic healing, spiritual wellness, wisdom healing and universal energy healing.

Because complementary and alternative medicine is such a broad field, students need to look for programs that focus simply on energy healing. Because energy healing itself encompasses many specialty areas, students who want to specialize should look for programs that highlight a particular specialty area, such as Reiki healing, Chi healing or Qigong. Of course students who prefer to generalize should look for programs that provide training in all of these base areas.

In addition to receiving classroom training, students can also take advantage of schools located near the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), where research training and other educational opportunities are available. Students should also consider attending a school located near the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine because work or internship opportunities may be available as well.

Energy healing typically takes place at hospitals, clinics and physician's offices. Students may want to consider attending a school located near one of these facilities where they may be able to work or intern prior to entering the workforce.
