Engineering Schools in Alabama
Many of the engineering programs in these schools have ABET accreditation, which is important not only in Alabama but in most other states as well. Engineers can't practice in Alabama without a Professional Engineer (PE) license. To get a PE license in Alabama, prospective engineers must have a bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited program or an engineering technology degree plus an ABET-approved graduate degree. Alabama will only apply experience hours earned prior to graduation towards the 4-year requirement if those hours were earned through a formal co-op program.
Alabama A&M University
Students in this Normal school can find Bachelor of Science degree programs for 3 engineering disciplines, including civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. The school also offers a Master of Engineering in Material Engineering with an electrical engineering emphasis. Students have the opportunity to earn stipends while sharing their passion for engineering with younger people by working at summer camps, including a computing camp and a robotics camp. Auburn University
Located in Auburn, the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering at the University of Auburn offers 12 engineering bachelor's degrees.
