  • The Event Industry (HFT 2750): This three-credit event planning course at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is an overview of the event planning and management industry. Students learn about legal issues in event planning, event coordination, promotions, entertainment and other relevant topics.
  • Event Promotion (HFT 3512): Students in this UCF event planning course learn about the use of marketing tools and advertising to promote events such as conferences, conventions and fundraisers. This class is part of the core course requirements for the event management associate degree.
  • Event Design and Production (HFT 3792): This event design course develops UCF students' ability to manage materials, staff, entertainment and other resources for successful event planning. Subjects studied include food delivery, serving staff coordination and guest registration and processing.
  • Catering Management (4802): Students in UCF's catering management course learn to manage catering waitstaff, food preparation workers, drivers and other workers for weddings, conferences and other events. Specific subjects studied in this event planning class include payroll management, menu creation and guest interactions.
