Topics include food and beverage planning, sites selection and event budgeting. Students are exposed to event planning lingo, legal management and the basics of event promotion. All certificate courses can be taken individually for students not interested in completing the entire 5-week program.
Belmont's bachelor's degree program in public relations management provides students with the opportunity to specialize in event planning. To accommodate working students, courses are available during both the day and evening hours. Students are required to complete 30 hours for the public relations management major but can then personalize their study through elective courses. Students seeking a specialization in event planning can learn to plan and complete events such as concerts and benefits through courses like event planning, media relations and fundraising. The program requires a minimum of 128 credit hours.
