Essential Information

Some schools in Florida offer traditional 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs; however, others may offer an RN-BSN program for nurses who have already earned an associate's degree in nursing. Accelerated BSN programs are available to students who have already earned a bachelor's degree in another field.

BSN programs prepare students to work as registered nurses (RN) in hospitals and medical facilities. Additionally, nurses who have a BSN may be eligible for leadership and supervision positions. Earning this degree also offers nurses the opportunity to continue their education at the graduate level.

Career Requirements

Registered nurses in Florida and throughout the U.S must pass the National Counsel Licensure Examination for registered nurses, known as the NCLEX-RN. Additionally, an associate's degree or diploma is the minimum educational requirement to work as a registered nurse.
