University of Florida

With an enrollment of more than 51,000 students, the University of Florida (UF) is one of the five largest universities in the United States. The latest U.S. News and World Report rankings also show UF to be one of the top Florida public universities. The University of Florida offers students over 100 majors and strives to limit most of their class sizes to 25 students. Located in Gainesville, Florida, the university stretches across 2,000 acres and is able to house an average of 7,000 students in its residence halls and another 2,200 in the five family housing areas for married and graduate students. The Florida Gator athletic teams have consistently been ranked in the top 10 standings and compete in the NCAA's Division I and Southeastern Conference.

Florida State University

Ranked as the fifth Best Value College of public universities by both the USA Today and The Princeton Review, Florida State University (FSU) is located in Tallahassee, Florida. FSU has a combined undergraduate and graduate student population that totals just over 40,000 and offers over 300 degree programs in a vast array of disciplines. Participating in NCAA's Division I and the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Florida State Seminole athletic teams are known for their competiveness in both men's and women's sports.

University of Central Florida

Originally founded as a space-grant university in 1963 under the name of Florida Technological University, the school's main goal was to provide highly trained personal to support the Kennedy Space Center. In 1978 the university expanded its academic offerings to encompass all fields of study and was renamed the University of Central Florida (UCF). Now the largest public undergraduate university in Florida, and ranking third largest overall, the university averages a student enrollment of 50,000. Offering 223 degree programs, University of Central Florida is considered a research and academic leader in such field as optics, business administration, hospitality management, engineering and computer sciences. Located in Orlando, Florida, the UCF campus has become a model layout for other universities with its unique pedestrian oriented design consisting of a series of concentric circles. Known as the University of Central Florida Knights, the university's 17 varsity athletic teams are part of Conference USA and the NCAA's Division I-A.
