1. Pennsylvania State University in University Park
This public research university was ranked one of U.S. News & World Report's top 50 colleges of 2010. Penn State encompasses 19 campuses and 15 colleges and professional schools. 2. Boston University in Massachusetts
This university was ranked a 2010 Best Northeastern College by the Princeton Review. It is home to published and Pulitzer Prize-winning faculty members and boasts over 20 libraries and more than 2,000 laboratories. Boston University's School of Medicine offers a Master of Science in Biomedical Forensic Science that is open to candidates with a 4-year degree in a science. Students learn to investigate homicide scenes and collect evidence for forensic studies. They study explosives, toxicology, DNA and blood spatter analysis, as well as forensic pathology and anthropology.
