Adult education students can receive help developing their skills in writing, reading and math, as well as science and social studies. Prospective students need to attend orientation and registration events, as well as take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). This testing process helps the staff and student compose a lesson plan that focuses on the student's needs.

Individuals are then placed in one of six levels of classes with each subject having its own set of levels to progress through. Classes are offered in blocks of time that range from morning to evening hours. Each adult education program has its own registration and orientation dates and times.

West Georgia Technical College

The Adult Education Department at West Georgia Technical College is located at the college's Carroll campus. Basic skills and GED preparatory classes are available to residents of the Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, Heard, Meriwether and Troup counties.
