Cuyahoga Community College's Home Health Aide Classes

Cuyahoga Community College is a 2-year public school conveniently located 1.5 miles from downtown Cleveland. Students may pursue a 2-year degree, vocational training, personal enrichment classes or college credits. Tri-C, as the college is known, offers vocational training through its Workforce and Economic Development Division (WEDD).

State-Tested Nurse Assistant (STNA) Training Program with Home Health Add-On Course

This program is held at Tri-C's Unified Technologies Campus in downtown Cleveland. It is a 104-hour program that also includes clinical practice. Students learn the fundamentals of patient care, such as bathing, dressing, feeding and communicating with patients who are impaired; they also learn how to conduct documentation and charting. The add-on home health aide class takes 20 hours to complete and is for students who want home healthcare as an additional part of their nurse assistant training. Graduates are prepared for the state competency exam.

Lorain County Joint Vocational School District's Home Health Aide Class

This public school offers high school and adult students a variety of vocational training programs at its campus located in Oberlin, Ohio. The school offers a 4-week course for aspiring home health care aides through the Adult Career Center.

Home Health Care Aide Class

This class meets two times per week for approximately four weeks. The instruction and training gives students the necessary skills to provide home care to patients with varying healthcare needs. The coursework focuses on health and safety. Students also work on communication and learn how to meet the holistic needs of patients from various backgrounds. Admission prerequisites include a current State-Tested Nursing Aide Certificate prior to registration.
