Industrial Technology Major Requirements and Curriculum
Industrial technology majors focus on the technical aspect of the operation, maintenance and management of technical systems used in businesses such as packaging companies and food manufacturers. Students in an industrial technology degree program are trained to become managers and trouble shoot production processes.
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology
In a bachelor's degree in industrial technology program, students take a combination of general education and industrial technology courses. Students can expect to discuss technical writing, marketing, safety, behavior and leadership. At least 120 credit hours are required to earn a bachelor's degree in industrial technology, depending on the program.
A series of upper- and lower- level classes cover architectural drafting and computer aided drafting. Graduates will know how to supervise employees and use the machines and technical systems needed to produce a variety of items.
Education Prerequisites
Individuals seeking enrollment into the bachelor's degree in industrial technology program should submit any transferable credits and transcripts. High grades in science, math and English are also preferred. Schools may look for high scores on the math and science portions of college entrance exams.
