Boston University

Boston University is located in the Fenway-Kenmore and Allston neighborhoods of Boston and is one of the largest private universities in the United States. The U.S. News and World Report ranked Boston University 41st among national universities in 2014. There are sixteen colleges in the school and more than 250 degree programs at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree levels are offered. Boston University also offers medical and dental degrees. These degrees are offered at the Boston University Medical Campus in Boston's South End neighborhood.

Harvard University

Harvard is a private school and the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States, having been established in 1636. It is a member of the prestigious Ivy League and is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a town just across the Charles River from Boston. Harvard offers students 13 schools of higher learning and degree programs at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels. Northeastern University

Northeastern University is made up of nine colleges, including science; arts, media and design; business; computer and information science; criminal justice; engineering; social sciences and humanities; professional studies; and law. The school offers more than 200 programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Northeastern is often praised for its co-op and internship programs, which are consistently named among the best in the United States. This program allows students to attend school for 4-5 years while gaining up to 18 months of professional experience related to their major. This program is often beneficial for students looking to transition directly into a career after graduating, as students often become employed at the business with which they've interned.
